Upon receiving her Masters from the NYU Tisch Graduate Acting Program, Angela Pietropinto joined with five classmates under the direction of André Gregory to help form The Manhattan Project Theater Co. During its 8-year existence, the Company performed on 4 continents and garnered 2 Drama Desk Awards and an Obie Award.

Her Broadway debut came opposite Derek Jacobi in The Suicide (1980). She returned to Broadway in Eastern Standard, Tartuffe: Born Again, and The Ritz.

Theater

Off-Broadway credits include work at The Public Theater, Shakespeare in the Park, Manhattan Theater Club, Playwrights Horizons, Lincoln Center Director's Lab, Minetta Lane Theater, Cherry Lane Theater, Ensemble Studio Theater, and LaMama.

Film

She has acted in over 25 films, affording her the opportunity to work with Martin Scorsese (Goodfellas), Mike Nichols (Heartburn), Sidney Lumet (Running on Empty), Robert Benton (Nobody's Fool, opposite Paul Newman), Marc Forster (Stay), John Patrick Shanley (Doubt), John Singleton (Shaft, opposite Samuel L. Jackson), and Todd Solondz in Welcome to the Dollhouse, which won the 1995 Sundance Grand Jury Prize.

On the independent film circuit Angela Pietropinto has won multiple awards including Audience Favorite at the Sarasota Film Festival and Best Actress at the New York City International Film Festival.

Teaching

Ms. Pietropinto has taught Acting at Yale and The Michael Howard Studios, and has been on the faculty as a Professor of Acting at NYU Tisch School of the Arts for over 25 years.
